Dan Schael

Dan Schael graduated from the University of Illinois in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and has an extensive career in commercial project management specializing in multi-family and hotel development. After owning and operating a custom home building company in Illinois for 20 years, Dan turned his sights on multi-family construction and relocated to Nashville, TN. There he oversaw numerous large scale multi-family projects and traveled extensively throughout the Southeast completing projects in multiple locations in Tennessee, the Carolinas, and Texas. While in Greensboro, NC, Dan led his construction team in the successful completion of a large-scale development including a Hyatt Place hotel, parking garage and a 300-unit mid-rise luxury apartment complex on a busy intersection in Downtown. Dan then took a position as Director of Multi-Family Development with a company in Memphis, TN where he oversaw all multifamily and mixed-use construction from concept drawings through occupancy.

Having lived in Beaufort, South Carolina when his family was young, it was always Dan’s intention to return to the lowcountry eventually. In late 2022, the perfect opportunity presented itself, and he joined the Forino team, bringing his more than 35 years of experience to our commercial division. As Senior Commercial Construction Manager, Dan oversees sitework and project management for our multi-family, commercial, and hotel development projects.
